A "How To" Workshop for Using Implementation Science to Build Implementation Capacity for the Use of Research Evidence

Speakers: Allison Metz and Jennifer Schroeder
This workshop will translate implementation science into concrete strategies and tools for practitioners, consultants, technical assistance providers, and intermediary organizations seeking to improve outcomes through the use of research evidence. The National Implementation Research Network’s Active Implementation Frameworks will be described using case studies to demonstrate specific implementation support strategies for:
  • Developing clear descriptions of effective approaches, core components, and fidelity assessments related to outcomes
  • Promoting engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders and leaders to build readiness throughout implementation, institute policy practice feedback loops, and establish effective communication
  • Collecting and utilizing data for decision making and improvement
  • Seeding and building the capacity of local implementation teams to serve as change agents involved in design, testing, and problem solving to move implementation forward
  • Ensuring that stage-based approaches are utilized and core implementation components are installed and aligned
