LifeSkills Training (LST) Pre-Conference
LifeSkills Training User Workshop
Speakers: Alayne MacArthur, Pam Werb, Lynne Gochenaur and Amy Lynn ShimkoThis informative pre-conference workshop offers users of the LST program an interactive, peer-based training experience designed to address important topics related to the successful implementation and sustainability of the LST program. Participants will discuss and address critical areas related to planning, implementation, student engagement, and sustainability. At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will receive a certificate of completion. Participants must attend all sessions to receive a certificate. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis.
The LST program is a research-validated substance abuse prevention program proven to reduce the risks of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse, and violence by targeting the major social and psychological factors that promote the initiation of substance use and other risky behaviors. This comprehensive and engaging program provides adolescents and young teens with the confidence and skills necessary to successfully handle challenging situations.
